- Graduated uni in 2020. Didn't like the jobs so created my own
- We got the bike as just the frame and built it up
- Sold pancakes at the beach, another venue, and private events
Discovered it's not my thing + fell in love with web3
Outcome: sold my shares to my co-founder. I went full-time in web3, he exited a few months later.
Actively in web3 since August 2021
- Bought the wrong JPEGs so I couldn't retire
- Lost $18 000 in 2021-2022
- Rode an NFT to $30k, it's now $150.
I'd love to say no regrets but these experiences keep me up at night sometimes.
Outcome: I stopped trading NFTs
web3adventures v1 (agency) Feb-December, 2022
- Got a grant from the Scottish government
- Hired 2 lads & consulted a few web3 startups
- Did some marketing and community-building
Didn't like the agency model, I wanted to build a product.
Outcome: went full time on the newsletter
web3adventures v2 (newsletter) August 2022 - present
- Turned my ADHD-fuelled research into a "business"
- Have helped 50+ web3 businesses get users, feedback, and talent
- Grew newsletter to 4000+ subs and counting
I've got to meet all types of cool people: founders who've fundraised big $$$ or exited for millions, crazy talent, and some VCs
Outcome: newsletter isn't the main focus anymore. Am looking for what's next
